The wonderful Elephant and Castle hotel, situated on West terrace in Adelaide’s CBD, are looking for a Sous chef for approx. 40-45 hours, over a 7-day roster.

Work for fantastic owners who have over 40 years’ experience in hospitality and really know how to treat their staff!

Skills and experience needed:

A minimum of 2-5 years cooking experience in a commercial kitchen
Formal culinary qualification
The ability to communicate clearly with other managers across the venue.
High food safety standards and commitment to hygiene
A calm and professional personality with a committed and passionate attitude to work

The wonderful Mirambeena Motel in Whyalla, South Australia is seeking a Head Chef to join their 4-star property, which offers its guests a high standard of motel accommodation and an on-site restaurant.
The 150-seat restaurant and licensed bar has a great reputation for providing quality food and is an integral part of their service, offering catering to both in-house diners and to the general public.

They are seeking a qualified Chef for dinner service (Monday – Saturday nights) on either a Full Time or Casual basis.

To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate previous experience in the following:

Experience in the preparation and cooking of high-quality meals – minimum of at least 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
Experience in the management of kitchens including ordering, stock control, food costing and meeting budgeted targets.
Ability to manage kitchen squad and where applicable, ability to work as a solo.
A high level of interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
Thorough knowledge of WHS and good hygiene and cleaning standards – both personal and for the kitchen.
Bring creativity and specials with menu changes.
Formal Commercial Cookery Certification required.
Ensure a positive work culture exists across the kitchen and the front-of-house team.
Maintain menu cost control / acceptable food cost % and wastage control.

The Charleston hotel is looking for a qualified chef to start ASAP.

They are looking for a full time chef, 40 hours a week across Thursday to Sunday.

Hours per day would be 10am to 3:30pm then 4:30pm to 9pm

To paint a picture of their kitchen, a normal Friday would consist of:

Lunch: The chef plus 1 kitchen hand. They would normally serve about 25 covers.

Dinner: The chef, an assistant on the fryers, 2 – 3 kitchen hands and serve 80 + covers.

They have a reasonably extensive menu, 60% of covers are schnitzels, although they offer 8 different toppings, which does add some complexity.
